Lighthouse Baptist Church held its annual First Responder Appreciation Sunday on Aug. 23, inviting Tri-Valley law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency personnel to be recognized in the historic church in Pleasanton for “dedication, service and sacrifice to our community”.
Pastor Bill Bryson expressed his appreciation to the first-responders in the room, and commended their families for their support and sacrifice, before leading the congregation in prayer for those who serve the public.
“It is a joy to recognize these heroes because that’s what they are,” Bryson said. “My words today can’t fully express how much I appreciate you. I appreciate what you do for our church as well. We praise the Lord that we have these folks that we can look to, go to, and call, and they are there.”
Multiple officers addressed the congregation, thanking the church and the community at-large. Several firefighters were also present but called away during the service, according to church officials.
Officials in attendance included California Highway Patrol Officer Tyler Hahn, Dublin Police Capt. Miguel Campos, Pleasanton police Capt. Kurt Schlehuber, Pleasanton police Acting Sgt. Ricky Barcelo and Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department firefighter Luc-Henri Brantome.
