Today at 3:30 is the rescheduled game vs. American. Also, the Varsity scrimmage against Bishop O’Dowd has been rescheduled for March 20 at 3:45. Both games are at home.
Pony baseball Championships
The Pleasanton Red Sox 14U team took second place in the 2006 Nor Cal AAU 14U Winter State Championships. The Red Sox when 4-1 to gain a berth to AAU Nationals in July taking second place out of an overall pool of ten teams. The Red Sox came out of their pool play seated in first place beating the Starmaker Redrays 7-1 in the semi-finals to advance to the finals.
During this five game weekend, everyone contributed to the Red Sox offense with Joey Eiras (two doubles), Justin Hollar (one double), Joey Luna, Andrew Wells, Michael Miller, Nick Lagorio, Scott Spencer and Matthew Chaidez all generating key hits this weekend. In late night pool play Joey Eiras came up with the single that generated the game winning run. The Red Sox defense was led by Michael Miller and Justin Hollar who, combined, faced 59 batters and had 19 strike-outs, five walks and gave up only five hits. Other players who contributed to the Red Sox offense were Jordan Quinzon, Tyler Sharp, and David Johnson. The Red Sox will next travel to Woodland for the AAU March Madness tournament.

CCOP closes out season
CCOP sixth grade girls finished their season and Finals game losing to St. Isadore’s–a very tough team, and the only team in the league the CCOP could not defeat during normal league play. All in all, CCOP had a phenomenal season, with its record of 11-2. The final score was CCOP #6012–4, St. Isadore #6013–21.
CCOP 8th grade girl’s basketball
The first round of playoffs opened the weekend of Feb. 26 in the CYO Tri-Valley Basketball League. The Catholic Community of Pleasanton (CCOP) 8th grade girlÃs basketball team was seeded second in the American Division of the league. CCOP took on the combined team from the Saint Michaels/Saint Charles parishes in Livermore. CCOP won the contest by the score of 35 to 24.
Kendra Hessel and Britannia Bloom were instrumental in the victory as each scored 13 and ten points respectively. Chelsea Luther bombed away from the perimeter and added five points. CCOP dominated the offensive and defense boards as Alana D’Onofrio, Emily Pease, Hessel and Bloom each had at least seven rebounds apiece. Pease also blocked two shots. Haley Douglas led the team in assists while Scarlett Dante ran the offense well. Courtney Wagner, Jessica Mickelson, and Jessica Infald played tough, solid defense to lend a hand in the victory.
