As the processing of primary election ballots in Alameda County nears completion, candidates have swapped places in the race for one county judgeship while the second of the two contested seats has been secured by a clear winner.

Cabral Bonner leapfrogged Michael P. Johnson in the race for Alameda County Superior Court Office No. 13, according to an update of the election results Monday afternoon (June 8) by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters’ Office.
Bonner, civil rights lawyer and former temporary judge, stands at 51.27% (165,584 votes). Meanwhile, consumer protection attorney and temporary judge Johnson is recorded to have 48.73% (157,355 votes).
Ahead of Monday’s update, Johnson led with 52.60% (73,602 votes) on Election Night and lost ground with 51.61% in last Friday’s tally.
In a separate race for office No. 19, trial attorney Selia Warren has secured victory at 56.55% (174,655 votes) over administrative law judge Patricia Miles at 43.45% (134,206 votes).

A total of 394,910 ballots have been processed and there remains an estimated 20,051 left to process countywide.
The registrar’s office is set to publish the final update on primary election results this Friday (June 12).
