The Pleasanton Police Department will be offering parents information on prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse, bullying and Internet safety with the first program tonight at a free, public program at the Firehouse Arts Center.
The program is designed to give parents insights into some of the issues their children face, including drug trends and social media use.
In addition, the police department’s two school resource officers will be doing a separate presentation for high school parents on cyber bullying.
A presentation in Spanish focusing on youth bullying is set for 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday, Sept. 18, with a second presentation in English on Thursday, Sept. 19.
In addition, presentations on Internet safety are set for 6:30 p.m. Sept.25 and 26, with the first session in Spanish and the second in English.
All of the presentations will be held at the Firehouse Arts Center, 4444 Railroad Ave.
A separate presentation on cyber bullying for parents of high school students will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 25 on the library at Amador Valley High School.
