“Despicablimp” makes stop at Livermore Airport to promote movie

The movie “Despicable Me 2” isn’t coming out until Wednesday, but Universal Studios is already busy promoting it at the Livermore Airport.

After releasing the first plot-revealing full-length trailer for the film last week, Universal launched a blimp that is touring the country, with its Bay Area location at Livermore.

The film’s ubiquitous yellow minions, the “Despicablimp,” was moored over the weekend at the airport in between appearances at other California locations.

The colorful blimp is also scheduled to be part of Telemundo’s Billboard Latin Music Awards in Florida next month and possibly the “Today Show” come the end of May.

The movie stars Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig.
