Get into the Roaring (19)20s vibe in the middle of a summer evening in the 2020s next month to help animals in need in the Tri-Valley.
Pleasanton-based Valley Humane Society is holding its annual Tails at Twilight fundraising gala July 13 at Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery, complete with dinner, live auction and dancing to celebrate and bolster the local animal support nonprofit.
“Tails at Twilight strengthens the bond between people and pets. As a nonprofit funded almost exclusively by community donations, Valley Humane Society relies upon the proceeds from this event to deliver critical lifesaving and life-enriching programs needed in our community,” Melanie Sadek, president of the nonprofit, told Embarcadero Media Foundation.
Specific initiatives supported by gala proceeds will include cat and dog adoption, the nonprofit’s Phil Scholz Veterinary Surgery Center in Pleasanton, its AniMeals pet food pantry and the Canine Comfort pet-assisted therapy program, organizers said.
Marking 10 years of Tails at Twilight, the fundraiser is set to begin with a Champagne reception with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a formal seated dinner, a live auction, a wine pull and a game of “Heads or Tails” and then dancing to “make this evening the cat’s meow for all who attend,” Valley Humane Society reps said.
The gala is scheduled for 6-11 p.m. July 13 in Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery, 410 Vineyard Ave. in Pleasanton. For tickets and more information, visit valleyhumane.org.
