Major League Baseball’s reigning American League Manager of the Year visited Dublin earlier this month to celebrate the opening of his newest namesake, The Vogt Family Center, at the School of Imagination in town.
Stephen Vogt, who caught for both the Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants during his baseball playing days, and his wife Alyssa have been supporters of the school for more than a decade through their Vogt Family Fund, which helps efforts in early childhood education for learners of all abilities and means.
“We are happy to play a small part to ensure children of all abilities receive personalized support that prepares them for kindergarten and a life of learning,” Vogt said in a press release before the Feb. 1 dedication ceremony that included Dublin City Council members and other dignitaries.
“We believe any family regardless of financial means should have access to the resources they need at School of Imagination. Our partnership with the School is so important to us — they make sure all kids can experience childhood without barriers, which helps our family live out our purpose,” added Vogt, who is entering his second season as manager of the Cleveland Guardians.
The new facilities bearing the Vogt name include 225 square feet of additional classroom and therapeutic spaces at the campus at 9801 Dublin Blvd.
“This expansion represents our commitment to ensuring that every child has the support they need to be their extraordinary self. We are thrilled to invite the community to see how we are growing to better serve children of all abilities,” said Charlene Sigman, co-founder and program director for the School of Imagination.
