Firefighters battled a house fire near Fairlands Park in Pleasanton that left its occupants displaced last week, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.
LPFD spokesperson Rosa Ramos told the Pleasanton Weekly that on April 20 at around 6:30 p.m., firefighters arrived at the 4000 block of Churchill Drive to find a single-story residence with “heavy smoke coming from the roof”.
“Our truck company determined the fire was in the attic and worked to keep it from spreading into the residence,” Ramos said.
After 20 minutes, Ramos said firefighters were able to put the fire out, but because of “significant damage to the residence’s roof”, the people living at the home will be displaced for at least six months.
Ramos also noted that while the fire was extinguished in under half an hour, LPFD crews spent about two hours conducting an extensive overhaul operation due to the room materials and solar panels at the residence.
