Phantom at Firehouse
Franc D’Ambrosio, a world-renowned Broadway actor best known for his years of playing the role of the phantom in the critically acclaimed musical The Phantom of the Opera, will be performing at the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton this weekend.
According to the Firehouse website, the actor will be blending iconic Broadway hits with timeless jazz standards as he reimagines some of his favorite performances from musicals like West Side Story and My Fair Lady.

Mr. Amador shows
The Mr. Amador nonprofit organization, which is led by Amador Valley High School boys, will be hosting its annual show next week at the Amador Theater.
For $20, members of the public can watch as the students compete in a number of performances including talent shows, skits and other presentations.

All of the proceeds from the event will help support and fund vital medical care, programs and services at the George Mark Children’s House, a pediatric palliative care center in San Leandro that provides comprehensive care for terminally ill children and services for their families.
The event will take place on Thursday (April 23). There will be two shows; one at 5 p.m. and another at 7 p.m. Tickets are available in person and online at www.amador.futurefund.com.
Opera match
After an anonymous donor pledged a $100,000 matching gift to honor the organization’s 35th anniversary, Livermore Valley Opera decided to further invest in the future of the arts in the Tri-Valley through a new matching challenge.
According to the organization, the 35th Anniversary Matching Challenge stipulates that from the beginning of April until July 31, every new or increased donation to the organization will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to the full $100,000 donation.
“Every eligible gift made during the campaign period will help unlock the full $100,000 match and strengthen LVO’s ability to bring transformative artistic experiences to the region,” reps said.

LPC Run for Higher Ed
Las Positas College is set to host a superhero-themed fundraiser run next Saturday (April 25) benefitting nonprofit organizations in the Tri-Valley.
Dubbed the 2026 LPC Run for Higher Education & Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance, the 5K run and 1-mile walk directly supports the college and participant-selected organizations with options including Open Heart Kitchen, CityServe of the Tri-Valley, Tri-Valley Haven and Sunflower Hill.
The event is also set to feature local vendors, event sponsors, representatives from LPC programs and departments, a complimentary BBQ and live DJ.
The fundraiser is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon at Las Positas. Check-in for the race opens at 8 a.m. at Building 1600.
Organizers include LPC, the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance and the Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Children’s makers market
Over 75 young entrepreneurs will be able to sell their products and kick-start their businesses this weekend at the 2026 San Ramon Children’s Makers Market.
The event, which is being co-sponsored by the city of San Ramon, will take place on Saturday (April 18) at the Dougherty Station Community Arts Center. Over 45 businesses from youth entrepreneurs will be participating in the event, which is essentially a marketplace for kids to create, plan and launch their own businesses.
According to a flyer for the event, some of the products people can expect to see at the event include baked goods, handcrafted jewelry and candles, and 3D printed items.
The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
