The Castlewood bridge over the Arroyo de la Laguna opened Jan. 25, giving golfers access to the full 18 holes on the Valley Course. The project to replace the former bridge that was damaged in the New Year’s Eve storm of 2023 cost $3.7 million. The third and fourth holes have been closed since construction began last year.

  1. Hello Tim –

It would be great if you could clarify…

    > Is the $3.7M bridge expense borne entirely by the City of Pleasanton?

    > Is this project for the benefit of Castlewood members only?

I did search for this information in prior articles before posting, but didn’t find answers.

  2. The cost of the bridge was covered entirely by the country club. It’s for use of members only to connect the 4th tee to the 4th green. No public funds were involved.
