Officials with the city of Livermore are inviting the community to attend an open house Thursday (March 21) on the Livermore Airport land use analysis.

Attendees will learn how the Livermore Municipal Airport can be used and will be able to provide feedback on ways it can benefit the city, officials said in a social media post announcing the event.

The open house is part of the outreach and engagement element of the Airport Land Use Analysis & Development Study, an ongoing project to identify potential development options and approaches at the airport that are responsive to the needs of the airport and the broader community.

The city project team, along with C&S Consultants, will be engaging with airport users and the public to gather feedback about the ideal mix of uses that will ensure the airport remains a successful and thriving asset for the community.

According to the project timeline outlined on the city’s website, the outreach and engagement phase will take place now through June, which is also the projected month that the study is set to be completed.

“Following the outreach and engagement process, the project team will prepare a land use analysis and development study of the current and future land use options around the Livermore Municipal Airport,” the city’s website states. “The result of this work will be an Airport Land Development Framework, which will identify available and advisable types of land use and development for available land, as well as recommended development approaches which will provide guidance on how to proceed with choosing development projects and partners. These deliverables are expected to be completed by June of 2024.”

While the city will continue to engage with potential developers and tenants of the airport throughout this process, it plans to complete the airport land development framework before moving ahead with any individual development project.

Thursday’s open house is set for 4-7:30 p.m. in the community rooms at the Livermore Public Library Civic Center branch. More information about the project is available here
