San Ramon’s City Center Bishop Ranch is welcoming three new tenants early in the 2025: indoor playground Kidplex, fashion and jewelry store Gorjana and Mediterranean cuisine restaurant Alora.

Kidplex is already in operation on the second story of the open-air retail and entertainment hub along Bollinger Canyon Road in the heart of San Ramon. Same for Gorjana, on the first floor on Alexander Square. Signage is up and final touches are underway inside — but the doors haven’t opened yet — for Alora on the northwest corner unit on City Center’s outer perimeter.
“Kidplex, Gorjana and Alora are welcome additions to City Center Bishop Ranch, enhancing the guest experience with unique flavors, engaging family spaces and stylish products,” said Jeff Dodd, senior vice president at Sunset Development.
“The new offerings reflect our vision of creating a dynamic community hub where families, neighbors and friends can explore the best retail brands, enjoy exceptional dining and connect in a welcoming and energetic environment,” Dodd added in a press release this month.
Coming to the 6,900-square-foot space at the corner of Sunset Drive and Bishop Drive, the restaurant would be the second Alora location in the Bay Area and the first foray into the Tri-Valley for any of its brands for AVB Hospitality – which is also known for its Alora on the Embarcadero in San Francisco, Rooh in San Francisco and Palo Alto, Pippal in Emeryville and Fitoor in Santana Row and Santa Monica.
“Helmed by executive chef Nicholas Peters, the menu will draw from the diverse cultures and cuisines of the Mediterranean, showcasing small plates perfect for sharing — mezze, handmade pastas, sustainable seafood, dry-aged meats, and skewers grilled to perfection,” Alora representatives said in January press release touting its arrival in San Ramon. “Complemented by a curated beverage list with creatively crafted cocktails, Alora San Ramon will provide an inviting space for lunch or dinner.”
Alora reps initially anticipated a January opening, but the restaurant remains in “coming soon” status as of mid-February. A firm debut date has not been revealed.
Gorjana opened its doors on Feb. 1 in a 760-square-foot store on the first floor facing the interior square, between Mendocino Farms and Athleta, according to City Center officials.
“The popular brand offers versatile, minimalist designs and a range of timeless pieces perfect for everyday wear or special occasions. With its signature gold pieces and emphasis on stylish layering, Gorjana brings a curated collection of accessories, allowing customers to create personalized looks,” they said.
Kidplex has been welcoming young guests and families in recent weeks to its indoor playground — a “3,500-square-foot space provides a thoughtfully designed environment to captivate young minds and active bodies”, City Center officials said.
“Tailored for children ages 0-8, Kidplex features a variety of engaging spaces, including a dedicated toddler room for developing balance and agility, a pretend play section for imagination building and an interactive area for honing fine motor skills,” they added. There is also a multi-use area for hosting parties or other group activities.
Kidplex is located in the second-story interior corner unit, between Sandbox VR and Tutu School.

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to clarify the opening date for Gorjana.
