State Senate forum on Sunday

The three candidates vying for the State Senate seat now representing Pleasanton are set to introduce themselves and their platforms to voters ahead of the March 5 primary in an online forum hosted by Livermore Indivisible this weekend.

After redistricting, Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin and Sunol will be represented by the same state senator as communities further east in the San Joaquin Valley including Tracy, Manteca and Stockton – as part of the new District 5.

With incumbent Susan Eggman (D-Stockton) terming out this year, the race is wide open and three candidates are on the ballot in the rapidly approaching March 5 primary election: former congressmember and Democrat Jerry McNerney, businessman and Republican Jim Shoemaker, and Democratic Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua.

The virtual forum is set for this Sunday (Jan. 21) at 1:30 p.m., moderated by Livermore Indivisible. Learn more at livermoreindivisible.org.
