The smell of fried fish makes me hungry…Yum! I shop a store based on selection, service, and value…not merely the smell. LOL!
For those of you who don’t care for an “Asian Market”, I’ll remind you that there are plenty of other choices in the immediate area. There’s Safeway’s Lifestyle Store across the freeway at Dublin Blvd; there’s the Safeway at Santa Rita & Valley; a Trader Joe’s across Santa Rita from the Ranch 99 Market on Pimlico—CVS/Longs & Walgreen’s both carry grocery items.
Slightly further away in different directions are Wal-Mart & further down Owens is the Smart & Final. There’s Gene’s & Thrifty/Rite Aid in the same center and Lucky’s is down Las Positas Blvd at Hopyard.
Shop with your dollars where you are happy to do so & quit complaining about a store that you have probably never been in, nor will you ever go into it.
As to the old Nob Hill building, any body heard anything about what is going into it, and when?
BTW, The president & CEO of Raley’s (who owns Nob Hill) announced about 2 weeks ago that he was cutting his direct report Executives from 10 people to 5 people (the other 5 were terminated) and last Friday Raley’s laid off 153 people (1/4 of the entire staff) from their headquarters in West Sacramento. The Pleasanton Nob Hill is just one of the Nob Hill’s that Raley’s has closed or will be closing in the near future.
Sounds to me like the “Raley’s Family of Fine Stores” is doing real well—NOT !!! and after being in the Raley’s on Sunol Blvd, I’ll pass on going in there again.
Excellent! The place is clean and spacious. Fresh produce. A different variety. Luv it!
These days, labeling someone as a “racist” either provides that individual with an undeserved platform or has the effect of black-listing said individual (who may or may not have a plausible argument). So let’s at least agree that it would be just plain silly to ridicule Asian/Taiwanese supermarkets from opening in Pleasanton. I may be biased in the fact that I actually like 99 Ranch, but this is part of the point: This new store has a lot to offer to the community in terms of jobs and offering products that weren’t formerly available in our town. Before 99 Ranch, Rosewood plaza was largely a ghost-town. Now it is bringing in more folks (who will likely spread their business around to nearby merchants — which will spur further growth in the area). Consumers are voting with our voting with their wallets as we speak. Sadly, when it comes to paying taxes, we don’t have this same liberty (yes, I am speaking to you Harris).
Excellent! I will be a frequent shopper.
