The BART Board of Directors is looking for an Alameda County resident to fill a vacancy in District 5, which includes the southern Tri-Valley.
Applicants must be registered voters and live in the district that includes Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and parts of Hayward and unincorporated Alameda County, the board announced Friday.
BART stations in the district are Castro Valley, Dublin-Pleasanton, Hayward and West Dublin-Pleasanton.
The board agreed last week to appoint a replacement for BART board member John McPartland, who resigned. The board plans to vote on the appointment on May 27.
The appointed member would serve until the seat’s current term expires on Dec. 6. He or she could seek a full four-year term in the election on Nov. 5.
Applicants must complete a form and packet found on the District 5 vacancy page of BART’s website, www.bart.gov, by 5 p.m. next Thursday (April 25).
Questions can be addressed to the district secretary at 510-464-6080 or boardofdirectors@bart.gov.
