If Swalwell were serious about BART to Livermore, where was he when so much money was spent building the Dublin/WPLEASANTON BART station, rather than using those funds to EXTEND BART to Livermore?

I'm not sure what he means by indicating he wants to prevent backsliding, eliminating regulations that were put in place by the previous administration that focused on "transforming America to a socialist state". And, sending money in the middle of the night to our countries enemies. Is he still afraid to call "muslim terrorism" what it is. I would like to see him come out of the closet on items like this, the stupid carbon tax and our governors life dream of a train to nowhere, where hundreds of millions have been spent and nobody wants it. And, I would like to see his comment regarding the state spending $25.1 billion on illegals while neglecting improving our water supply, roads and bridges which are in need of repair. Somehow these things never get brought up do they? He represents all of us here not just his democratic throwbacks like Barbara Lee and alt-left lawyers.

I appreciate that Representative Swalwell returns every weekend. I also appreciate that his staff responds to the letters and emails I send. We don't agree on every issue but that is to be expected. I do expect my representative to do the best he can, and I think Swalwell is trying.

I totally agree with Hotslide. While I agree with most of Mr Swalwell's policies, I don't appreciate his criticism of the President. Insinuating that people are racist or discriminatory is a page right out of the far-left playbook. He fails to mention the total obstructionism by the Democrats, and has forgotten that Mr. Obama himself deported 3 million people, as many as Bush and Clinton combined.
I am a big fan of more traffic lanes for everyone, I am not for restricted lanes that can only be used by a "special" class of driver. My tax money paid for those lanes too. One thing badly needed is a 4 lane hi-way from the central valley to the south bay area. There is an existing road that could be improved, taking lots of truck traffic off of 580.
As for the 2018 elections, I can't wait. Over 1,000 elected seats were lost under Mr. Obama, but the Dems still don't get the message. Look at the leftist radicals they are considering as their new leadership.
As for EOs, Mr. Obama was very prolific; the President has only begun to erase the damage done.
Expecting a new health plan and tax reform in 30 days is ludicrous, and Mr. Swalwell knows that. I'm not sure how he became a Democrat, unless it was just to get elected. I think he is trying to walk a very fine line politically, and I would not be surprised if he changes his tune a bit after 2018.

Swalwell's bill that would "create a bipartisan, independent commission to probe Russian interference in the presidential election and efforts by other foreign entities as well as make recommendations for future security strategies" gained a Republican co-sponsor yesterday. Amazing, there is one Republican Congressman who isn't sucking up to Trump. We have 13 California Congressman who are still drinking the Trump Kool-Aid. These comments by Swalwall are consistent with the rhetoric and nonsense that the Democratic party is pedaling about the Russian's hacking the election, sandwiched by some touchy-feely babble about caring for constituents and wanting to make a difference. If he is serious about working across party lines to bring about change, then he should start with himself and stop encouraging people to "resist this president," which has become the new obstructionist platform that the Democratic party is pushing.

Additionally, criticizing President Trump's use of executive order brings to light the evidence that Stalwall has been asleep for the last eight years during the Obama administration and that he prefers to take the easy way out and recite the partly line rather than standing up, taking and honest look at where the country really is, and then providing real leadership.

My takeaways from this light-weight article are these: (1) evidence that fake news exists even at the local, small town level, (2) satisfaction that I did not vote for Mr. Stalwall, and (3) that any hope of bi-partisan leadership is not going to happen because the Democratic leaders are too focused on providing safe spaces for cupcakes than supporting the leader of the greatest nation in the world and giving him a chance to make America great again. #wakeup

To begin with, I am not a fan of Mr. Swalwell. I have had an opportunity to view him on liberal TV where he was quite comfortable with the softball questions, however; on conservative TV (Tucker Carlson), where he wasn't asked the easy comfortable questions, he dodged, squirmed, and blabbered around the issues. His work here, as determined by his answers, is to fight Trump at every step, defend the illegal aliens, support the entry to California of more and more refugees, all at the expense of tax payer dollars. For him, American citizens, and in particular Californians, do not come first. There is a 'Monster Vote' out there in this state. I believe Brown and the others will hear from us soon. We don't want to go the way of Europe.

Swalwell, like the other naysayers and those in the resistance movement, need to realize that we are ONE country and work, not to continue the divide, but to bring us together in unison! We put up with the previous useless, Socialist and clueless President before Trump. Did you see destructive protests in the street and screaming and yelling and nitpicking everything he did? NO.Trump is far from perfect, but he was clearly the better choice of the two. I firmly believe he has a heart for what is best for the country. He may make some mistakes along the way, but in the end, the results will be for the better. So, shut up, grow up and come together.

No, Don isn't a Socialist, nor was Hitler - he was part of an unhinged far right wing movement. He crushed the socialist wing of the party in 1934 but retained the 'Socialist' moniker to mislead the German public. Hitler hated socialism and also communism -one of the primary reasons for invading Russia.

Kate was shot by an illegal immigrant that is a convicted felon, because San Francisco allows criminals to roam the streets, in full support of, and into the open arms of the mayor, Nancy Pelosi, and our own Eric Swalwell.

I was critical of Swalwell during his first term, but he has improved over the years and now represents this District well. I guess it takes a few years or a couple of two-year terms to learn your way around in DC. It's nice that he can work across party lines to get things done and isn't part of the partisan gridlock.

When I-580 gets repaved over the Altamont, get it to include HOV lanes. Add a major fee-funded park/ride lot in far eastern Alameda County at the mis-named Grant Line Road/580 interchange.

Two unrelated "Grant Line Road" interchanges six miles apart - one on 580 and one on 205 - are confusing; I wish Alameda County would re-name their Grant Line Road "Haggerty Drive". Scott Haggerty has been County Supervisor there for over 20 years and headed MTC and BAAPCD, both heavily involved in vehicular traffic.

Use the parking fees to help fund buses to BART, or future BART and/or ACE rail. Give Central Valley commuters a reasonable alternative to driving alone.

If Trump were connected to the Russians in any way, shouldn't he be doing the following:

-Limiting fracking as much as possible
-Blocking oil and gas pipelines

-Cutting U.S. military spending
-Trying to reduce tensions with Russia’s ally Iran

Trump did freeze Federal hiring outside of military, but this effects many non-government employees. This effects military families overseas that have their children in preschool. This effects rural folks that depend on government jobs for income. National Parks rely on seasonal help, and many elderly folks rely on those jobs to supplement their SS income. The tourist industry is also starting to see the effects by Trump's comments and actions.

Trump promised jobs, so far he hasn’t delivered. The jobs he states he helped create were already in the works by those companies.

He has cut government jobs.

The government is not the only employer in this country.

Our schools are falling apart and our teachers don't want to teach. Our school board has become a political arm of the demonrat party and is showing our kids that breaking the law is ok if it goes along with your agenda. Instead, Swalwell is spewing the playbook of the demonrat party, obstructing what the majority of the american people voted for, minus the ILLEGALS VOTING IN THIS STATE.
