The Amador Valley swim teams wrapped up their dual meet seasons by splitting matches with crosstown rival Foothill.

The Dons took both girls’ meets, but Foothill got the two boys’ meets.

The junior varsity girls saw the Dons get a 103-63 win, with the varsity girls winning 127-43. Both Amador teams finished with 4-0 marks.

On the boys’ side, the Falcons won the JV meet 87.5 to 82.5. The varsity meet was a 102-68 final. Both Amador teams finished the dual meet season at 3-1.

In the JV girls’ meet, Avery Shea had her best meet of the season, leading the Dons to a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 freestyle. Evelyn Roe was second and Lauren Lasserre got third for Amador.

Nafisa Aurangabadwala also had a good meet, winning the 100 individual medley in 1:13.32. Rili Wong was a close second with a 1:13.64. Aurangabadwala also won the 100 backstroke in 1:09.99. 

Jade Selway led a sweep in the 50 butterfly going 30.93, with Elena Eichler getting second and Pujita Pattanshetti finishing third.

In the varsity action, the Amador girls dominated from start to finish, as Francesca Lin started it off by winning and leading a sweep in the 200 free in a 1:55.91. Delaney Miller was second and Hailey Hamilton was third.

Elayna Ling led a 1-2 finish in the 100 fly with Lin getting second. Lillyana Caples also led a 1-2 finish in the 500 free, with Mia Chang getting second. Ling also led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 breaststroke with Namya Sarup getting second and Caples finishing third.

In the JV boys, Connor Robitaille led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 IM in 1:02.63, just out-sprinting Evan Crandell who finished second with a 1:02.75. Artur Boulatov was third in 1:04.42.

Matthew Svanyuta won the 50 free in a tight race with a 24.31, and Colin Kirschner was third with a 24.65, 0.04 out of second place.

Amador also swept the 100 back, with Vedh Patchipulusus leading the way, Liam Smith in second and Luke Hilton in third. Amador won six of the 11 races but were not able to overcome Foothill’s depth in the final score.

In the varsity meet, Toby Huan led a 1-2 finish for the Dons in the 100 fly with a 53.26, with Asher Ding finishing second. Amador also swept the 100 breast, with Ding winning it this time at 1:00.07. Michael Li was second and Laird Muise was third.

It was Senior Day for the Dons with the swimmers that swam four years for Amador concluding their regular season careers.

Cole Banman, Will Campbell, Ryan Harold, Jac Jorgenson, Landon Kenney, Tyler Liu, Grant Montoya, Bryce O’Nesky, Evan Shackleford, Calvin Stout, Simon Valentine, Regan Braga, Hailey Hamilton, Joyce Huang, Elayna Ling, Shree Rao and Namya Sarup were the four-year swimmers for the Dons.

Foothill volleyball

One week after sweeping De La Salle to move into a first-place tie in the East Bay Athletic League, the Falcons came back to earth dropping a pair of matches.

One was a 25-20, 16-25, 25-22, 25-21 loss to Livermore. The highlights came from Josh Salonga (28 assists, 14 digs), Dean Caudill (12 kills, 10 service points), Cam Hitchan (7 kills, 1 block) and Thomas Paduraru (8 kills, 4 blocks).

Then, California got the better of Foothill 15-25, 25-18, 18-25, 25-23, 15-9. This time the Falcon highlights came from Salonga (44 assists, 12 digs, 10 kills), Jeremy Sun (14 kills, 10 digs), Caleb Lai (23 digs, 3 aces) and Alex Melnik (5 kills, 2 blocks).

Amador badminton

The Dons kept it rolling along, knocking off Quarry Lane by 15-2 final.

The boys’ singles winners were Kayosh Kumar Mohapatra, Benjamin Li, Aadi Koshal, and Kevin Ke. The girls’ singles winners were Shravani Kurapati, Jessy Yeh, Xinyuan Ou and Paige Xu.

The girls’ doubles teams that won were Varshini Subramanian/Aishani Pramod and Anupraya Saithiyanan/Sydney Lo. The boys’ doubles winners were Geffen Kama/Nathan Han, Samanyu Kurlkami/Luming Wang and Philip Miu/Brandon Chen.

Finally, the mixed doubles teams that won their matches were Regina Mok/Aaron Kao and Cara Li/Nachiketh Nandish.
