About 500 swimmers will be coming to Pleasanton this weekend to participate in a two-day swim meet hosted by the Pleasanton Seahawks at the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center.

The two-day short course Senior II meet is set to begin this Saturday and continue through Sunday. Swimmers will start to arrive as early as 7 a.m., and the competition will run from 9 a.m. to about 3 p.m. on both days, officials said.

For the duration of the swim meet, the aquatic center will be closed to the public.

Officials with the Pleasanton Seahawks and the city of Pleasanton are encouraging participants to carpool to reduce impacts on the neighborhoods surrounding the aquatic center located at 4455 Black Ave.

Overflow parking has also been reserved on both days at Gingerbread Preschool, Alisal Elementary School and Amador Valley High School, according to officials. For more information, contact Michelle Dunaway at 931-3423.
