The city of Pleasanton will be featured on national television this Saturday morning as part of a new educational series called “Now We Know with Steve Guttenberg” on CNBC.
According to the trailer for the Pleasanton-themed episode, the segment will show how the city “balances historic charm with a thriving modern economy”.
“It is important to talk about Pleasanton on educational television so that people understand how quality of life really matters,” Pleasanton Mayor Jack Balch said in the trailer for the episode. “We really dedicated a lot of thinking time, leadership time, chamber (of commerce) time and business involvement to improve the quality of life and what we would like is for the quality of life that we enjoy here, to be one that other communities can learn and work from.”
News of the city being featured on the CNBC segment first came out on May 27 when the Towne Center Books store announced that the show’s production team was going to shoot videos for the episode that day.
The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce also officially promoted the segment this week ahead of the episode dropping this Saturday (June 20) at 8 a.m.
“The Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce was honored to showcase our incredible community and what makes Pleasanton such a great place to live, work, and thrive,” the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce stated in a newsletter Thursday. “We are thrilled that viewers across the country will have the opportunity to see what makes our city shine.”
The chamber will be hosting a watch party for the episode at the Sunshine Saloon, which is located at 1807 Santa Rita Road. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m.
