After a wild ride of a season, the Amador Girls’ Lacrosse team saw its season end with a wild 13-12 loss to arch rival San Ramon Valley in the NCS championship game.
The game saw SRV run off to a 4-0 lead and then have the Lady Dons come back to tie the score at 5 by halftime. A 7-5 Amador lead was answered by SRV, who came back to tie the game at 8. The teams traded goals the rest of the way, with SRV scoring last to gain the victory.
The Lady Dons finished their season with a 16-5 record, ranked second in Northern California. The team graduates nine seniors: Jackie Bierre, Emma Bijesse, Sarina Madnick, Cara Padilla-Nalagan, Paula Reever, Jessica Thomas, Melissa Triplett, Ariel Wang, and Katie Zachariades.
Amador baseball advances to NCS playoffs
With a 19-5 record the Amador Valley Varsity baseball team enters the NCS tournament as the fifth seed. Their tournament opened this week with a game at home Tuesday against Irvington. The Falcons’ Anthony Machi fired a 1-over par 72, placing fifth overall in the field of 96 top high school golfers in Northern California, qualifying as an individual for the State Championships in Santa Maria.Junior Eric Pitcaithley followed with a solid 3-over par 74 to tie for ninth overall and won a playoff to qualify for the sixth and final individual entry into the State Championships.
Foothill’s Conflenti leads EBAL in hitting
Foothill’s Cory Conflenti put together a remarkable season. The senior, who’s headed to USF, finished the EBAL season hitting .585, with hits in 11 of 12 games. Conflenti had eight multi-hit games.Foothill Softball earns third seed in NCS tournament
The Lady Falcons after a 19-2 season head into the NCS tournament on a 12-game winning streak. They opened their quest for the 2006 NCS title Tuesday, the 23rd on their home field.
