The Amador Valley High School Athletic Boosters is hosting the East Bay Regional Special Olympics Track and Volleyball tournaments for the third consecutive year next Saturday, May 6.
Volunteers are needed to assist athletes and run the events during the day by staging the athletes, scoring events, timing, giving awards, serving lunches and setting up and taking down event materials and booths. The event requires approximately 250 volunteers.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for your family to provide meaningful service to those who really appreciate and depend on the volunteers to make this event successful,” said Kent Young, the Boosters volunteer chairman.
Lunch will be provided for all athletes and volunteers.

Wolves tear up Dons 9-0
Despite a close, three-set thriller at the No. 3 doubles position, Amador girls tennis rallied well but never could win the decisive points against the visiting San Ramon girls. Allison Kerrigan and Sasha Gibbons looked like they could take a point for Amador, but lost as darkness overtook the courts, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(4).“I am very impressed with how we have improved,” said Coach Mike Milton after the loss. “It is always harder at the top positions, but we don’t give up and the girls look better and better. I am very proud of all the players.”
