A Pleasanton resident has been hospitalized and is in critical condition after his wife allegedly stabbed him during a domestic dispute on Monday at the Hacienda Commons Apartments, according to police.

The Pleasanton Police Department arrested the adult female who was later booked into Santa Rita Jail on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and felony domestic violence, Lt. Erik Silacci stated in a press release on Tuesday.

“This isolated case of domestic violence is actively under investigation and the police department extends its support to the affected family during this challenging period,” Silacci said.

PPD received a call around 12:30 a.m. Monday (May 6) from a woman reporting she stabbed her husband during an altercation, according to Silacci.

Officers responded to the apartment complex, located in the 4900 block of Owens Drive, where they immediately administered aid to the husband.

Silacci said the man was transported to a local trauma center where he currently remains in critical condition.

Pleasanton police said they would not be releasing the names of the two individuals because of the ongoing investigation and due to confidentiality laws governing domestic violence cases.
