Residents donated thousands of food items and thousands of dollars to support the Pleasanton Police Officers Association (PPOA) Charitable Foundation last month.

The contributions included more than 8,000 canned or non-perishable food items through the PPOA’s food drive at the new Grocery Outlet store in the Vintage Hills Shopping Center.
The donation barrels were filled to provide aid for those in need in the community. Anyone who donated at least 10 food items was entered into a raffle, with three $100 Grocery Outlet gift cards awarded, according to Officer Ryan Tujague.
The foundation also hosted a separate fundraising raffle, with donors purchasing tickets to enter a Sony PlayStation 5 giveaway. The PS5 raffle raised more than $2,000 before the lucky winner was selected, Tujague said. Proceeds benefit the foundation’s efforts with scholarships, support for loved ones of police who die in the line of duty or other individuals in need.
