Appointed to his new position by the CLPCCD Board of Trustees at its Oct. 20 regular meeting, Nicholas has more than 14 years of higher education experience in California and Washington.

“We are excited to have Jonah join our organization as the new vice chancellor of business services,” CLPCCD Chancellor Ronald Gerhard said. “He will be an instrumental team member to lead our business services department.”

Most recently, Nicholas was Contra Costa Community College District’s long-time chief financial officer, providing leadership in accounting, budgeting, purchasing and payroll.

He was also “an instrumental team member in bond issuance and debt management, negotiations, post-employment benefit obligation funding, accreditation, College and Career Access Pathways, and supporting diversity initiatives.”

Before his time at CCCCD, Nicholas was director of fiscal services at Wenatchee Valley College in Washington state.

Nicholas received a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University and an MBA from Washington State University.
