An observant neighbor reported a burglary in progress in Dublin Thursday morning and helped officers make an arrest, according to police.
A resident called police just after 9 a.m. on Thursday after spotting a male subject entering a home on Cedar Way, according to Dublin police Lt. Herb Walters.
The resident knew his neighbor was out of town, so police responded and set up a perimeter around the home, Walters said.
A suspect was taken into custody after he exited the rear of the home, and was found to be in possession of possible stolen items from the residence, Walters said.
Police arrested Wayne Barfield, a resident of Dublin and Oakland and notified the residents of the home of the burglary.
