Hot weather will stay with us another day in Pleasanton with the temperature expected to reach 100 by mid-afternoon today.
The National Weather Service said the temperature reached 100 degrees about 2 p.m. Sunday, about the same as on Saturday and in line with what we’ll see today.
The rest of next week shows a cooling trend with temperatures settling back into the 80s.
Most of the Bay Area is seeing the hottest temperatures since the heat wave in late June and early July, and fire danger continues to be high, with grass fires already raging in the areas near Mt. Diablo and near the city of Sonoma.
The hot weather has triggered a Spare the Air alert as low winds and high temperatures combine to produce unhealthy ozone levels in the air, according to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
