The Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center is receiving finishing touches to a year-long renovation and will be closed to all programs for five days starting today.
Lap swimming and water exercise, which are being held on the east side of the facility during the renovations, will resume next Saturday, Aug. 31.
The major renovations, which are expected to be completed in early September, include redesigning the 25-meter pool into an “L” shape to include the diving pool; replastering two pools and giving them ADA access; deepening the 25-meter pool for future and potential competitive use; and installing new plumbing, heating, electrical and filtration systems at both pools.
