Without a judge’s ruling on the Signature Properties v. PUSD, the special meeting scheduled for 4 p.m. today was cancelled last minute. The judge was expected to make a decision by last Friday, but has not made a decision known as of Monday afternoon.
The judge in the court case at the Fremont Hall of Justice, George C. Hernandez, was expected to make a decision by the end of last week, but has not rendered his ruling as of this afternoon.
At the special district meeting, the school board had invited the public to comment on the court case and ruling before going into a closed session to discuss it.
Attorneys for Signature, a premier housing developer that built Ruby Hill, and the school district made their closing arguments last Monday. The five-year litigation involve who is responsible for funding yet-to-be-built Neal Elementary School. It would be the city’s 10th and final elementary school in the Vineyard Corridor.
