Teacher of the Year Brian Ladd (above) coaches students on the Amador Valley High School “We the People…” competition civics team before the national competition where Amador came in second. Ladd is a social studies teacher at Amador and has taught in the district for 16 years. In addition to leading the “We the People” class, he is also the head of AVID, a program that helps students in the “academic middle” prepare for college admission.
“I want to thank the administration because they’ve always been very supportive of the programs I want to implement and give me the time and the resources I need,” Ladd said during an address at the “Salute to Service” event earlier this month.
