The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors has approved more than $1 million in additional spending to expand its contracts with Pleasanton-based Workday, adding procurement and contract management services to the county’s use of the cloud-based software system.
The funding was approved Oct. 20 as part of the board’s consent calendar, typically reserved for bulk approval of items deemed routine.
The county entered into its master subscription agreement with Workday in 2021. The additional funding approved by the Board of Supervisors totals $965,726 for the procurement and contract management services, which include modules for inventory, contracts and supplier management. The contract limit now stands at about $11 million.
“The proposed amendment will provide continuity of service and allow the county to continue utilizing and expanding its existing Workday environment without transitioning to a different platform,” IT Director Marc Shorr wrote in a staff report for the meeting.
The contract amendment approved by the board also includes a provision that indemnifies the company for third-party claims regarding content placed in the Workday system by the county or other violations of the agreement on the county’s part.
The board approved an additional $98,000 for the implementation of Workday’s procurement module under the county’s contract with Guidehouse Inc. The contract was initiated last year when Guidehouse was selected to manage post-production services via Workday following a request-for-proposal process.
“Implementation of the proposed Workday modules will require Guidehouse’s professional services and expertise to configure, integrate, test and deploy the additional functionality within the county’s existing Workday environment,” Shorr wrote.
The amendment brings the contract limit for Guidehouse to just over $1 million.
