Scoring highest out of 150 teams, the Pleasanton Middle School Destination ImagiNation team won the state competition and will represent California at the DI Global Finals May 22 in Knoxville, Tenn.

Destination ImagiNation is a program that encourages students to find creative solutions to solve problems through teamwork. Students participating in these team competitions are given five competitive challenges that span topics such as theater arts, physics and technology, to name a few. Teams of two to seven students complete the challenges over the course of several weeks and present them at a state competition.

The Pleasanton Middle School team scored the highest in every single challenge, giving them a normalized score of a perfect 400. The team members are Adam Siegel, Preston Hedrick, Hunter Laine, Linus Ho, Sachin Dhar and Diane Rodriguez.

The students are now preparing for the global competition. Anyone who wants to support the students’ trip to the competition can call Pleasanton Middle School at 426-4390.
