The Tri-Valley Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) honored several individuals in the Pleasanton, Livermore and Dublin school districts last week with the “Make a Difference Award.” The awards are a chance for families to acknowledge individuals who have gone “above and beyond” to make a difference in the life of a child with special needs.

This year’s awardees from Pleasanton were the following: Ramon Amezquta, Marsha Young, Lauren Brown, Jean Ellis, Azi Gamez, Jerod Sigman, Dara Hogue, June Irick, Toby Lupton, Zach Lupton, Darrell Mark, Jodi Million, Marla Silversmith and Terri Sullivan.

SELPA is a consortium of participating school districts formed for the purpose of ensuring that quality special education programs and services are available throughout the Tri-Valley to meet the individual needs of special education students. Visit www.trivalleyselpa.org for more information.
