The Las Positas College Foundation added five new members to the Board of Directors in recent months as it prepares for the 2006-2007 school year.
Livermore resident Charelene McKenney, a director of logistics in the high tech field, and Josh Shinnick, a past chair of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce and an attorney at the law firm Hoge, Fenton, Jones and Appel, Inc., first joined in September 2005. Betty Tse, a chief investment officer of the Alameda County Employees Retirement Fund, Marty Livingston, second vice president of wealth management at SmithBarney, and Ralph Kokka, an associate with McNichols, Randick, Odea and Tooliatos, LLP, joined at the beginning of 2006.
These five new members, along with the 15 other directors of the panel, will continue to set policies and priorities for the Las Positas College Foundation. Established in 2003, the organization provides Las Positas College with funding support and educates the community about opportunities at the school. Funds raised by the Foundation go toward scholarships, staff development, technology upgrades, performing arts, athletics and other school programs and services. Jim Ott, president/CEO of Uncle Credit Union, serves as board chair and Dr. Ted Kaye serves as the board’s CEO.
