Candidates running for Dublin school board in the November general election were finalized Wednesday, following an extension to the filing deadline in races for two of the three opening seats.

Running in Area 2 for the Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees is business manager Holden Lomeli. Due to the filing of a sole qualified candidate to represent northwest Dublin, the race for Area 2 will not be listed on the ballot.

The competition for Area 3 features energy sustainability manager Shalini Bhandari and energy compliance inspector Tanner Frye. The post representing part of southeast Dublin, runs into 2028, given the two-year provisional appointment of departing Trustee Carolina Martinez. She did not file for reelection.

Candidates for the DUSD Trustee Area 5 (incumbent Dan Cherrier against challenger Seema Badar) as well as seats on the Dublin City Council, including the mayoral post, were confirmed last Friday.

Just north of Dublin, the competition for Dublin San Ramon Services District Division 2 also finalized Wednesday and features newcomers Kismat Kathrani and Donald Downey. The position represents southwestern San Ramon.
