The Pleasanton Unified School District recently honored one of its data administrators, Yogita Khedkar, as the 2026 Classified Employee of the Year for her stellar work in the curriculum and instruction department under educational services.
“I am honored to be recognized as Employee of the Year,” Khedkar said in a statement to the Pleasanton Weekly. “It’s a great feeling, and it really highlights the tireless work of our data team behind the scenes. This is a win for all of us.”
Every year, PUSD honors one classified employee and one certificated employee of the year. In addition to receiving the district’s recognition, Khedkar was also selected as an Alameda County Classified School Employee of the Year in the technical services category, according to the district.Â
“Yogita’s recognition is incredibly well deserved and reflects the impact she makes every day,” said Jr. Yee, coordinator of educational technology at PUSD, in a statement to the Weekly.
“She brings a rare combination of technical expertise, thoughtfulness, and follow-through to her work,” Yee added. “Beyond her skill, what stands out is the genuine care she brings to supporting others. She’s someone people trust, and our team, and the district as a whole, are stronger because of her contributions.”
Khedkar has been with PUSD for over six years and lives in Pleasanton. As a data administrator, she said her current work primarily revolves around computer programming and managing the Student Information System (SIS).
“I help ensure data integrity, maintain regulatory compliance, and facilitate data-driven decision-making to positively impact student outcomes and support stakeholders through secure, high-quality data governance practices,” she said.
“With my proactive approach and strategic thinking, I am able to drill down and locate the issues before they reach the end users,” Khedkar added. “I can also find various ways to address issues or challenges and suggest alternate solutions for our staff.”
During her tenure, Khedkar said she has really enjoyed engaging with the people and the different projects at the district and being able to work collaboratively with her colleagues to serve students. One of her favorite moments at PUSD was when her team made the new student information system operational over a seven-month period.
“We also combined the three phases of new registration and returning registration for students in one place and made the process more seamless and intuitive,” she noted.
As far as what keeps her going, Khedkar said she continues to be motivated by her love of finding “opportunities to increase efficiency and build great solutions” for a kindergarten through 12th grade system that she said is the foundation for a child’s academic and emotional development.
“This inspires me to build efficient processes to improve student outcomes and achieve overall operational efficiency,” she said.
