The Pleasanton school board is set Thursday to consider authorizing staff to move forward with selling up to $195 million in bonds from Measures I and I1.

Proceeds from the transactions will fund facilities projects in the district, although the staff reports for this week’s meeting did not call out which specific projects the funds are earmarked for.

The deals would include an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $35 million from Measure I1, the fourth and final round of sales from the $270 million bond measure passed by voters in 2016. The other set would be $160 million in bonds from Measure I, representing the second series from the $395 million ballot measure voters approved in 2022.

Like their predecessor series, the bonds will be paid back via property taxes from those owning land within the Pleasanton Unified School District boundaries.

In both transactions on the agenda, the bonds will be sold and issued by PUSD, with Keygent LLC as municipal adviser, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP as bond counsel and disclosure counsel, and Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Inc., as underwriter.

Also as part of Thursday’s meeting, trustees will discuss the 2023-24 annual report of the district’s Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee for Measures I1 and I.

They will also consider approving contracts related to the Early Childhood Education Center, Mohr Elementary School reroofing, Mohr transitional kindergarten play area upgrades and Valley View Elementary transitional kindergarten building increment projects.

The board and staff will talk about communicating progress in district goals.

The open session of the board’s regular meeting is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Thursday (April 17) in the boardroom at the PUSD headquarters, 5758 W. Las Positas Blvd.

Among its closed-session business, the trustees will consider appointing the next principal of Amador Valley High School and the district’s next human resources director.
