An attempted burglary at a jewelry store in Dublin last week was foiled by the owner removing valuables from display cases before multiple suspects attempted to break in by ramming a vehicle into the building.
The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. Friday, according to a press release from Dublin Police Services later that afternoon, during which the driver of a white lexus reportedly broke into the security gates at BJ Jewellers at 6616 Dublin Blvd. by backing the vehicle into them.
Multiple suspects were seen exiting the vehicle via surveillance footage according to DPS, before fleeing empty handed in different vehicles.
The suspects were still at large and the investigation was ongoing as of Friday afternoon, with the Lexus abandoned at the scene of the crime being deemed stolen.
DPS officials had not responded to a request for updates as of Monday evening.
