Walnut Creek police on Thursday arrested a man not long after he allegedly robbed a downtown bank.
Police responded just after 12:30 p.m. to a reported robbery at Chase Bank at 1390 S. Main St.
The suspect, a 54-year-old Livermore man, allegedly passed a note to the teller demanding money and didn’t use a weapon, police said.
He then allegedly fled in his vehicle after the teller gave him money. Police found him not far away, driving on Olympic Boulevard.
Police made a traffic stop, arrested the suspect, and recovered the money. He was booked into Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of robbery.
Anyone with information about the case can contact Walnut Creek police at (925) 943-5844 or call their anonymous tip line at (925) 943-5865.
