The Pleasanton Police Department is currently looking for three suspects who are believed to be connected to a residential burglary that occurred in an apartment complex last week on West Las Positas Boulevard, police said.

On Feb. 9, at around 4:30 p.m., the individuals allegedly broke into an apartment located at 5727 West Las Positas Blvd., according to PPD.

Lt. Erik Silacci told the Weekly it appears the suspects used some sort of tools — possibly a crowbar — to pry open the door. Silacci said the suspects allegedly took electronics and that there was money missing but that PPD didn’t have any more information on how much the suspects made off with in terms of monetary worth.

Nobody was inside the apartment at the time of the burglary, Silacci said.

PPD is asking the public to help identify the suspects, which is why the department posted the video of the burglary that was taken by a video camera outside of the apartment on its social media pages.

The video shows the suspects ringing the doorbell and pacing in front of the door before it shows the still images of the suspects.

Silacci said that police do have some “pretty good leads” right now that they are actively pursuing.

“We have some pretty good evidence … so hopefully we’ll have some more information, hopefully soon,” Silacci said.

He also said that as they work on identifying who they are, he hopes to also find out if these suspects might also be linked to other similar cases around the city and in the Tri-Valley.

“A lot of times in these types of cases through our investigation … they’re linked to other crimes as well,” Silacci said. “Other burglaries or other types of incidents that aren’t just related to Pleasanton, but could be in the Tri-Valley or greater Alameda County area.”

This recent burglary comes on the heels of the department’s Facebook post on Feb. 6 stating that home burglaries increased in the city by 62% in 2023.

Silacci said that while the department does have some positive leads and evidence on the suspects, he is still asking for anyone — either in Pleasanton or in the Tri-Valley and county — who might know more to call the department’s tip line at  (925) 931-5228.
