The next trial date that has been set in the child sex abuse case against former San Ramon Valley teacher and cheer coach Nicholas Moseby is early 2025, more than two years after Moseby was first taken into custody on initial charges.

Moseby, who has pleaded not guilty, has been out on bail since December 2022, having been arrested and detained for several months since criminal charges against him were first brought forward that September by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Following a total of five postponements to date, the case is set to go to trial on Feb. 24 after attorneys for both sides and the judge in the case met this month to discuss a trial date that would not fall prey to scheduling conflicts that the DA’s office says were responsible for prior delays.

Prior to the latest delay, the case had been set to go to trial on Sept. 10.
