Repaving WLP Blvd.

The city of Pleasanton will be continuing its annual pavement management program this fall with repaving parts of West Las Positas Boulevard between Foothill Road and Interstate 680.

Starting this month, city crews will remove and replace the top layer of asphalt and regrade the roadway. They will also add safety improvements like a new left-turn lane from West Las Positas onto southbound Foothill Road and buffered bike lanes.

This work will take place on weekdays during school hours to minimize traffic impacts near schools. Occasional work will also take place during Saturdays when needed.

According to the city, the roadway will not be fully closed but drivers should expect lane closures and delays in the area.

Teen improv

Former Pleasanton recreation supervisor and award-winning youth theater worker Mark Duncanson will be teaching improvisation classes to middle and high school students at Dublin Heritage Park Sunday School Barn next week.

“Improv fosters collaboration, laughter and creativity while allowing participants to own their content and use their lived experiences to color that content,” he said in a press release.
