Glowtopia at mall
Imaginarium, an immersive light festival, is brightening up the Stoneridge Shopping Center for the next two months with its Glowtopia exhibit.
The outdoor showcase is a “dazzling celebration of light, joy and imagination” that allows people of all ages to experience a “world of illuminated gardens, interactive art and the Pleasanton debut of the high-energy Cirque Legacy Medieval Thrill Show”.
“Whether you’re capturing picture-perfect memories or simply soaking in the magic, Glowtopia offers an unforgettable night out under the stars,” according to a press release.
Located at the Stoneridge Mall, the Imaginarium is open Wednesday through Sunday and will run until Oct. 26. The exhibit opens at 7 p.m. and closes at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays — the other days it closes at 10 p.m.
TVC volunteers
The Tri-Valley Conservancy is currently looking for volunteers of all ages to help the Livermore-based nonprofit out for a day by removing invasive weeds that have popped up near a new hiking trail at the Lund Ranch neighborhood in Pleasanton.
According to the land trust organization, if they can quickly remove the weeds, “we can stop them from spreading and protect this special habitat.”
“Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or this is your first time, your help truly makes a difference,” the conservancy stated in a press release.
The clean up event will take place Aug. 30 from 8:30-11 a.m. at the end of Spring Creek Terrace.
Nonprofit expo
The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance is hosting a Resource & Volunteer Expo this month in Livermore, offering Tri-Valley families a chance to connect with local nonprofits for assistance or volunteer opportunities.
The free event, according to the alliance, will bring together an array of “local nonprofits, service providers, and neighbors for a day of connection, support, and engagement”.
“Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or your family — or hoping to make a difference through volunteering — you’ll find dozens of nonprofits offering vital information on services including mental health, housing, food access, job support, senior care, childcare, and more,” the nonprofit alliance stated in a press release.
The event will take place at the Robert Livermore Community Center next Saturday (Aug. 23) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
