We tend to label those struggling with drug abuse disorders (DAD) as “dangerous” or “junkies,” but how do these stereotypes change the people who are affected? How should this change our perspective on these people as a society? By looking into the concept of rehabilitation versus prevention (jail time as a solution to DAD), we can simultaneously work to challenge our immediate stigmatism towards drug abuse and opioids.
The video was produced as part of a program to educate youth and others about Alameda Countyโs opioid crisis, prevention and treatment options. The program is funded by theย Alameda County Behavioral Health Departmentย and the grant is administered byย Three Valleys Community Foundation.
