As the summer season approaches, so does the return of Livermore Valley Opera’s Opera in the Vineyard production.
Blending the magic of live music with the natural beauty of Livermore wine country, the two-night opera is set against the scenic backdrop of Garré Vineyard & Winery.
“These outdoor concerts bring together world-class voices and timeless melodies for an unforgettable evening under the stars,” organizers said in a statement announcing this year’s event.
Two unique performances will be held on June 22 and Aug. 17, both starting at 5 p.m.
Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic, sip on award-winning local wines and enjoy a curated program of operatic favorites and Broadway classics — each evening featuring a different musical setlist.
The June cast includes soprano Cara Gabrielson, mezzo soprano Deborah Martínez Rosengaus, tenor Joachim Luis, tenor Sid Chand and baritone Igor Vierra.
Chand will return for the August concert, joined by soprano Liesl McPherrin, mezzo soprano Edith Dowd, baritone Matt Worth and baritone Krassen Karagiozov.
In addition to the concert, raffle ticket sales and prize drawing will take place during each show.
One winner during the June concert will have the chance to appear as a butler, maid, or other non-singing household staff member in Violetta’s lavish home during LVOpera’s production of “La Traviata” this fall while an August winner will get to play a supernumerary role in “Così fan tutte” in early 2026.
In both roles, “you’ll rehearse with the cast and chorus, learn your entrances, exits, and blocking, and experience the thrill of opening night and every performance. Plus, you’ll get to invite friends and family to see you shine onstage!” LVOpera officials wrote of the opportunity.
Other prizes include two box-seat tickets to a production of the winner’s choice (matinee or evening) in San Francisco Opera’s 2025-26 season, plus a $200 gift certificate for dinner at the Hayes Street Grill.
