A large oak tree, estimated at more than 200 years old, collapsed amid the weekend rainstorm and landed across Foothill Road south of Castlewood Drive in unincorporated Pleasanton early Sunday morning.

The major county roadway was blocked for hours before being cleared of debris while PG&E worked until almost 8 p.m. Sunday to restore electricity fully to the area after the fallen tree knocked down power lines.
