After dropping their first two East Bay Athletic League boys’ soccer matches, the Amador Valley varsity rallied for a thrilling 3-3 final against Granada.
Mateo Eichler scored a pair of goals, with Diogo Temporo scoring once.
Temporo scored the first goal for the Dons, with Eichler’s two goals securing the draw. The first came off a cross from Franklin Coleson, and the second off a corner kick by Jonas Lyions.
The losses came to Livermore (3-0) and California (1-0) to start the EBAL campaign. In a non-league game last week, the Dons went down to San Jose and tied El Primero 2-2.

Playing away from home for the week the Amador freshmen had a successful week. First, they secured a come-from-behind 2-2 draw at Freedom followed by a 2-0 win at Granada.
Against Freedom, down 0-2, Ethan Hernandez put the Dons on the board by breaking through and putting away a left-footed goal. Sawyer Willis followed moments later tying the game from the left wing, lacing a shot across the goalie into the upper right corner.
Then at Granada, Tanner Gates got Amador on the board in the early minutes with a right-footed shot in close.
The Dons found the second goal elusive until late in the game when Kingston Smith converted a break away one-on-one to close the game out.
In goal, Shimy was poised and in control, supported by a backline that stood tall throughout the game.
