The spring sports portion of the East Bay Athletic League is the biggest time of year when it comes to individual glory, with track and field, and swimming and diving leading the way. Of course, there are plenty of team sports as well, with baseball, softball, and volleyball being the ones most in the spotlight.
Spring is the busiest season of the high school sports calendar, and it is hard to follow through to make sure every team/sport gets its just coverage.
At the Playbook we rely on getting help corralling all the results, whether it is a coach or parent willing to help make sure the results or stories are sent in for publication.
Before I roll into the awesome results from some of our incredible athletes, let me apologize if I miss something. It’s not intentional but rather that you have one person covering an entire league of teams and hard working individuals.
This past weekend saw the CIF State Swimming and Diving championships, as well as the North Coast Section Tri-Valley Track and Field meet take place.
We will start with the swimming and diving with the following swimmers or divers making the state “A” finals in their respective events.
The meet to place at the Clovis Aquatic Complex.

Track and Field NCS Tri-Valley meet
The TV Area meet was held on Saturday May 13 at Foothill High, one year after the Falcons were stripped of hosting the meet because the school did meet section standards for being handicapped accessible.
Thanks to work over last summer, the school was granted the meet this year. The top six in every event, along with any athlete that met the NCS qualifying standard, advanced to this weekend’s NCS Meet of Champions where they can advance to the CIF State Meet.
The MOC takes place Friday-Saturday, starting at 1:30 p.m. Friday and 12 noon on Saturday.
Following are the EBAL athletes that qualified, along with their marks and place finished. Anyone listed after 6 th place advanced by meeting the NCS qualifying standard.
