Pleasanton resident Jennifer Jia, an incoming sophomore at Amador Valley High, earned a bronze medal in the youth 14 female foil division during the Bay Cup fencing competition in San Francisco last month. Jia lost her semifinal match against Frenso Fencing Academy’s Madeline Liao, who went on to capture first place in the tournament.
