Home Team Name: Revolution, Score: 1, Visitor Team Name: Rays, Score: 4
Highlights: The undefeated Rays took on a spunky Revolution Saturday morning at Harvest Park Field. The Rays got off to a good start five minutes into the game when Keegan Locher made a great cross from the right side of the field to Kevin Yang who out huslted the defender and popped in a score. The Rays seemed to have a head of steam up and soon thereafter Jordan Singh mad a stellar cross from the left side to Shaun Kienhofer who struck it firmly into the upper right hand corner of the net. Then Max Kim, who’s score a minute earlier had been called back for offsides, returned Andrew Bailey’s pass from the same former play allowing Bailey a left footed score. The Rays seemed unstoppable but the Revolution dug in! Revolution Goalie Michael Howard allowed no more scores for the half and just prior to the whistle Revolution forward Dario Loriato retaliated with a break through strike to the opposite side of the net from the left side. Post halftime Revolution defense further raised the bar for the Rays and Revolution goalie Dhruv Rohan got very stingey with one great save after another. However, the Revolution was down 3-1 and needed points on the board to recover. The Rays defense again was incredible denying the Revolution one offensive opportunity after another. The Rays ended the game with a final score when Andrew Bailey crossed a through ball to Shaun Kienhofer who pounded the ball in once more. The Rays were lucky on the day and won 4-1.

Top Offensive Players: Ben Foos
Top Defensive Players: Nate Gipson
Highlights: For the second consecutive week, the Rapids fell short against an undefeated team – this time a seesaw battle against the Rampage that remained 1-0 until the game’s final six minutes. The Rampage applied offensive pressure from the opening whistle, forcing Rapids fullback Zach Sonnenschein to bust up a breakaway in the first minute, and Eric Holmes to kill another minutes later. The Rampage broke through eight minutes into the game on a corner kick that pinballed around a crowd, then squirted into the goal. From there, the game increased in intensity, with both sides threatening but unable to crack through unyielding defenses. But with 6 minutes remaining in the match, the Rampage broke open the match when a throw-in rattled around the mouth of the Rapids’ goal and a Rampage player popped it past the onrushing goalie. Two minutes later, as the Rapids tried to ratchet up the offensive pressure, a Rampage forward sprinted between two defenders at midfield for a breakaway goal. The Rapids broke up the shutout seconds before the final whistle, when forward Tyler Kline turned a hand-ball near midfield into a soaring penalty kick that caromed off the goalie’s hands and into the goal.

Top Offensive Players: Graham Catudal, Dev Naik, Joshua Cho, Gabe Hencker
Top Defensive Players: Jordan Reni, Danny Hanna, Kevin Almeida, Chris Bayley
Highlights: Chris Bayley and rest of the Raiders defense subdued fierce attacks from Renegades and led the Raiders to victory. Graham Catudal, Dev Naik and Joshua Cho made several attempts to score but either hit posts or missed a goal by inches. The game remained scoreless and kept spectators on the edge of their seat until the last minute in the first half when Graham fired a long shot from the right side and put it over the goalie’s head. In the 2nd half, Graham Catudal made two additional goals to lead Raiders 3-0. Renegades almost erased that large deficit when its fierce counter attack weakened the Raiders defense and stole two goals within 3 minutes. With less than four minutes left in the 2nd half, Raiders eventually sealed the victory when Graham Catudal made a surprising “hook turn” shot to the unsuspecting goalie.

Offense moving better than most in this water socked field as first game and closes in but Chaos defense is right there to block. Offense is off and running when she blocks an defensive kick that puts her in prime goal range and slices it right past the goalie and just misses net. Shayna Doyle and Karah Paul as strong Defense enables Alexa to run the ball up the side to cross over and center it to kick and score first goal when the ball just sneaks past their goalie.Cassidy Holmes midfield rebounds ball up left sideline, but gets intercepted and Sophie Hudson gains back control and runs it up right sideline over to Alexa that attempts to score three more times right in a row, but defense is right there each time. Chaos is able to tie. Then Karah as defense power kicks the ball at least 30 feet out and it takes one bounce and past goalie to make it number two for Vortex before half ends. Katie Eppand, Isabelle Adams, Maddie Gallagher, Alexa Hansen and Priyanka Davar all attempt to score but Chaos defense too strong, but then our defensive line of Shayna Doyle, Karah Paul,Maddie Jackson and Zoe Zimpher are also strong enough to ward off future scoring.
