Alameda County Fire Department crews responded to the 7900 block of Shady Creek Road about 12:30 a.m., department officials wrote on social media.

The two residents sleeping inside the home were alerted to the fire by the barking dog. All were able to leave, and no injuries were reported, ACFD officials told Pleasanton Weekly.

Officials said the fire caused “extensive damage” to the garage and home.

Firefighters from ACFD and the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department were able to extinguish the flames before they spread to any neighboring homes.
